A Loving Check-In

Just for today, take a few moments to tune into your body.

Our bodies provide so much for us. We are in relationship with them every day, whether we realise it or not.

Sometimes we take our bodies for granted.

Sometimes we try to ignore what they are telling us.

Sometimes we are deeply aware of just how remarkable they are.

Today, let's simply say hello.

Find a comfortable place to sit. Take a few slow breaths.

There is nowhere to get to and nothing to achieve.

This is simply a moment to check in with yourself.

Good morning, how am I feeling today?

How is your scalp feeling?

Gently place your hands on your scalp and give yourself a little massage.

Notice what you feel.

Now notice your ears.

Gently rub your ears between your fingers.

Offer them a little kindness.

How are they feeling today?

Now your face.

Gently caress your face.

Is it smooth?

Is it cool or warm?

How does your forehead feel?

Your cheeks?

Smile to your cheeks.

Now the back of your neck.

What does the nape of your neck feel like?

Perhaps brush your fingertips gently up the back of your neck toward your scalp.

Give your scalp another little massage.

Now your shoulders.

Scrunch them up towards your ears and let them gently drop.

Take a deep breath in and let it go.

Try this a few times.

Now gently give yourself a hug.

If you feel inspired, speak something kind to yourself while you hug.

Send a loving thought to your body.

Thank you for being here with me.

I am listening.

Now your belly.

Place a hand on your belly and feel it rise and fall as you breathe.

Notice the gentle rhythm of your breath.

Now your lower back.

If you can, rub your lower back with both hands.

Offer a little warmth and appreciation.

Now your hips.

Place your hands on your hips and gently twist from side to side.

Slow, gentle movements.

Now your legs.

If you are sitting, place your hands gently on your legs.

Gently march your legs or pat them softly.

Flex your calf muscles.

Point your toes.

Circle your feet at the ankles.

Press your toes into the floor.

If you are lying down, bend your knees and notice how your legs feel today.

Take a final breath.

This is my body.

Thank you for today.

I am listening.

I am here.
